In English this week we have been demonstrating how to add commas to a list. We have also been making leaflets about Nelson and life at sea, making sure we add subheadings such as HMS Victory, food and drink, punishment and children at sea.

In maths we have been looking at units of measure and choosing the appropriate measuring tool, such as rulers, scales and measuring jugs to estimate capacity, length and weight.

Week 5 Already!

In maths this week Caterpillars have been interpreting and constructing block graphs. We each got to vote for our favorite super hero; first using unifix and voting boxes then by completing a class tally chart. From this we got to see who the most popular superhero was (cat woman) and able to create a block graph of our results.

In English we have been writing our own stories about the life on HMS Victory. We have been looking at what sort of jobs there would have been and what we thought life would have been like on board ship.

In Topic we have continued to look at Lord Nelson, comparing the medicines sailors had to modern day medicine. We have also been plotting Nelsons journey on a world map and making our medal designs using clay.
